Kagawa Tour de Nippon in Shodoshima

We are now taking sign ups at contact@khmj.com for Papersky’s first bicycle tour of 2015. On 5/31 (Sunday) the Tour will travel to Shodoshima; the second largest island in Japan’s Seto Inland Sea area. The island will amaze you with it’s Mediterranean atmosphere and it’s beautiful beaches and large olive plantations. However, it also has a traditional Japanese side with well over 20 Soy Sauce companies and a mountainous interior featuring the Kankakei Gorge, some say home to Japan’s modern hiking culture. Recently the island is attracting attention for it’s food culture; many movies are being filmed on the island because of it’s stunning scenery and art fans have been flocking to the island to visit the permanent artwork from the Setouchi Triennale. So come and join us as we peddle through the spring Shodoshima island breeze and take in the breathtaking ocean views.

*The cost of the Papersky Tour de Nippon does NOT INCLUDE TRANSPORTATION (Flights, Cars, Trains, Ferries) from the participants house to the starting point and from the finish point back to the participants house. All transportation must be self-booked.

Food and Talk Event

On the 5/30 (Saturday) the day before the ride we’ll bring together some of the islands most talented food producers with some of the islands most creative residents to bring you a sampling of Shodoshima’s best flavors. Our Papersky tour de Nippon guests will be able to meet up with the ‘real’ folks who live on the island to begin a sharing of ideas and experiences. We’ve also invited some past Tour de Nippon guests to talk about their towns and futures.
